Environmental pollution is an issue that concerns and affects our society, human being is the main responsible for contamination, which began after the industrial revolution with emissions from the combustion of fuels. Therefore, we have developed new strategies for a sustainable production that favors the preservation of natural resources and in turn, controls the pollution increase. A candidate who has the right features for this are the yeasts, Yarrowialipolyticaischaracterized by accumulatea high lipidcontent and lipase enzyme activities, usingthese features, wecan produce a primary component of biodieselas a fatty acidsandoptimize their production processusing lipases. In this work, we evaluate different isolates of Yarrowialipolytica, to determine the production of extracellular lipases LP2,and lipid accumulation, both strategic characteristics in the production of biodiesel. We are developing a protocol for determining the extracellular lipolytic activity in an experimental growth mediumcalled mediumesquilmoand analyzing lipid accumulating strains by specific staining with Sudan black. We propose the production of free fatty acids, as the main raw materials for the production of biodieselEnvironmental pollution is an issue that concerns and affects our society, human being is the main responsible for contamination, which began after the industrial revolution with emissions from the combustion of fuels.
