| es_MX |

English | The chinene (Persea schiedeana: lauraceae) is a fruit tree that is consumed by the inhabitants of hot humid zones of Mesoamerica. Due to its important quantities of oils, its cultivation has been promoted for industrial purposes. However, there are currently no commercial gardens with chinene grafted varieties. In order to characterize the quality of Chinene fruit, samples of fruits were collected from six outstanding trees of Veracruz and Tabasco. Physical and morphological characteristics of the fruits collected were evaluated and compared with the fruits of other studies and with the data of the same trees previously evaluated in 2015. The trees of two materials evaluated stand out for their important amounts of pulp (around 50% ) and dry matter (38 to 49%). We consider that these materials are candidates to spread and establish commercial plantations. | - |
