dc.description.abstract	El presente artículo ofrece un panorama general de la participación de la niñez en el fenómeno migratorio y la violencia que sufren niños, niñas y adolescentes centroamericanos en su trayecto hacia los Estados Unidos y en su paso por México. A pesar de las altas cifras de niños, niñas y adolescentes migrantes, un área de oportunidad en la investigación científica es el estudio de este sector de la población, sus retos, dificultades, representaciones y experiencias al respecto. Se acude a una metodología cualitativa cuya técnica es la revisión documental, se centra especial atención en el análisis de documentos electrónicos del Departamento de Fronteras y Aduanas de los Estados Unidos (USBP),de la Red por los Derechos de la Infancia en México (REDIM) y del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR). A partir de este análisis se señala que la violencia de países centroamericanos es uno de los principales factores que impulsa a la infancia a emigrar, huyendo del reclutamiento, extorsión e intimidación de pandillas y grupos delictivos. dc.description.abstractEnglish	This article provides an overview of the participation of children in the phenomenon of migration and the violence sufferedby children and adolescents in their journey to the United States and in Mexico. Despite the high numbers of migrant children and adolescents, an area of opportunity in scientific research is the study of this sector of the population, their challenges, difficulties, representations and experiences in this regard. To go to a qualitative methodology whose technique is the document review, focuses special attention on the analysis of electronic documents of the Department of Border and Customs of the United States (USBP), the Network for the Rights of Children in Mexico (REDIM STATEMENT) and of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). From this analysis, it is noted that the violence of Central American countries is one of the main factors that encourages the children to emigrate, fleeing the recruitment, extortion and intimidation of gangs and criminal groups. It is concluded by stressing the importance of rethinking immigration laws that guarantee the integrity of migrant children and adolescents	-
