| es_MX |

English | In the search of other silicon derivatives with potential use in stone conservation, we suggest the use of tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl) silane (THEOS) and tris(2- hydroxyethyl) methyl silane (MeTHEOS) as water soluble precursors. Additionally, it is already known THEOS is compatible with different natural polysaccharides as chitosan and the same behavior has been observed for MeTHEOS. The hybrids obtained are used as consolidants and hydrophobic formulations as water soluble silanes in the conservation of historical building materials siliceous and calcareous. Having in mind the required evaluation, several chemical and physical analysis have been performed in order to assessing the effectiveness and compatibility of the suggested hybrids on carbonate and silicate substrates. | en |
